I can't prove that that is the case.just what I've read. I went there 100% to buy the Bosch but, after comparing them (especially the fences) I went with the Dewalt and have been very happy with my decision.įrom what I've read (mostly on RFD in past discussions of the Dewalt saws) the 7480 was discontinued because some regulatory agency changed their guidance related to saw blade size vs table size due to safety concerns. Lowes had the Dewalt and A Bosch on sale at the same time. I bought the Dewalt 7480 a couple of years ago. Stand is nice but rack and pinion is more important for me as I spent too much time ensuring fence was square That's my 2 cents and u can decide what u want to do. I thought I had the fence straight and cut crooked and wasted a good piece of plywood I went w a used dewalt 7480 for rack and pinionīoth fences don't come close to dewalt one and for time save and peace of mind for straight cuts to me the fence is one of the most important things on the table saw This saw is only meant for trades people who need to cut things on site. if you're very rich, get sawstop of course.
#HOME DEPOT TABLE SAW PORTABLE#
If you really need a portable one, try metabo or anything that comes with a stand and built-in outfeed extension. this is only observable with dial indicator, but I'm sure it has an effect on the cut. if you try to cross-cut a plywood that's more than 9", you will have problem. you can try use coarse sand paper to run through the miter slot (1-2 swipes only, there's lots tutorial on youtube). this problem becomes obvious once you try to run a zero-play miter runner. What is the cheapest option available within Portable Table Saws Check out our lowest priced option within Portable Table Saws, the BladeRunner 4-in Spring Steel Blade 5.5 Amp Portable Table Saw by Worx. Again, this a problem presents in a lot of dewalt's table saw. The top-selling product within Portable Table Saws is the DEWALT 15 Amp Corded 10 in. the best bet to solve it is build a sled.

The gauge has too much play inside the miter slot. To be fair, all dewalt's miter gauges are crap, so it's not this model's problem. A lot of exotic or high quality blades (eg flat-top) only comes in 10" size. (Oshlun SBJ-0830 costs around $100 for a set) Cannot fit dado stack, but you can use a finger joint blade for this purpose. Which means you will need to buy a dial indicator ($30-$50) to properly tune it. out of the box, both blade & fence are not aligned with miter slot. Bought around March for $379 from Canadian Tires.
